A dramatic mountain road (or historic steam railway) down toward the coast, with the landscape transforming along the way.
Day 4
The old Ottoman and Egyptian architecture of this historic Red Sea port town.
Day 5
Time on the Red Sea coast, with an optional boat trip to the Dahlak archipelago and a look at the local fishing economy.
Day 6
A rural village visit and a traditional coffee ceremony with locals.
Day 7
A final day exploring the city's markets, churches, and mosque.
