Day 1
Orientation in North Ossetia and final permit and logistics preparation.
Day 2
A dramatic mountain drive into South Ossetia, followed by a first walk through Tskhinvali.
Day 3
Tskhinvali's streets, government buildings, and Soviet-era monuments, with a conversation with a local about life here.
Day 4
A drive through rural Ossetia, learning the region's history and meeting the people who call it home.
Day 5
Return through the mountains to Vladikavkaz. End of expedition.
